About

Michael Chicoine, MD, is a neurosurgeon who treats patients with brain and nervous system conditions, such as tumors, aneurysms, strokes and hemorrhages. He has a special interest in neuro-oncology, pituitary tumors, skull base surgery, cerebrovascular disease, trauma and Chiari malformations. He also is the chair of the MU School of Medicine’s Department of Neurosurgery.

Dr. Chicoine has decades of experience helping people with challenging problems get the best possible outcomes through advanced surgical and nonsurgical treatments, leading-edge technology and compassionate care. He wants his patients and their family members to feel comfortable asking him any questions about their condition and treatment.

Dr. Chicoine is a native Midwesterner who likes spending as much time as possible with his wife, two children and his large extended family. He enjoys running, hiking, cycling and experiencing the beauty of U.S. national parks.
